INTRODUCING ATLANTIC CITY JAMS! (JAZZIN’ AROUND TOWN) JAZZ & BLUES FESTIVAL…an unprecedented multi-venue arts, cultural and entertainment explosion to benefit the revitalization of mid-town Atlantic City, NJ and provide an affordable entertainment option for thousands of visitors. The ATLANTIC CITY JAZZ FOUNDATION is making plans to LAUNCH the JAZZIN’ AROUND TOWN event on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 20, 2008 and featuring 42 live performances by 14 top-flight bands (plus a Jazz-oetry Jam) spread out over 12 locations from 4pm until 2am.

(Fittingly, Jazzin’ Around Town will “take flight” as an after-math of the hugely popular “Thunder Over The Boardwalk” AC Air Show, which drew an estimated 300,000 people to AC in 2007).

Offering a welcome and overdue tonic for Jazz and Blues aficionados visiting Atlantic City and their families, the Atlantic City Jazz Foundation/Atlantic City Jams! Entertainment strives to present this event as: (1) a unique public celebration of Jazz and Blues, (2) an affordable entertainment option for the average visitor to Atlantic City and (3) a catalyst of revitalization for mid-town Atlantic City and its hospitality industry.

As Atlantic City’s first-ever multi-venue music festival, JAZZIN’ AROUND TOWN will present an all-evening “Jazz party” combining the elements of a food fest and nightclub crawl, to bring together live music lovers from across state lines and around the globe to sample a “taste of local AC” and share moments of relaxation, exultation and happiness.

Since 1996, the Atlantic City Jazz Foundation (aka Atlantic City Jams! Entertainment) has been a grass-roots arts, cultural and entertainment producer specializing in events that cross all boundaries of age, culture and ethnicity. As Atlantic City’s newest arts initiative, the presentations of “Atlantic City Jams!” music festivals (and more!) will draw from a local, regional, national and global pool of talent and of nightclub, concert and festival goers and their families, crossing geographic and cultural lines to connect with a widespread and appreciative audience.

JAZZIN’ AROUND TOWN will explode onto an unsuspecting Atlantic City entertainment scene with talent that ranges from promising emerging artists to seasoned veterans. JAZZIN’ AROUND TOWN’s explosion of live performances will feature local, regional and national artists and create a unique and memorable public celebration of music to be enjoyed by everyone who lives in the Atlantic City area or visits from around the United States and the world. JAZZIN’ AROUND TOWN aims to provide one of the city’s top entertainment values and create a sense of local revitalization.
